Dispute with a Tier 1 subcontractor: an agreement is better than a lawsuit

Parallel Avocats successfully represented Devialet in a dispute with a Tier 1 subcontractor in a complex industrial project.

A tier 1 technical service provider had been awarded a project for a major French group, and Devialet had been subcontracted to carry out the acoustics and audio engineering. The subcontractor was slow to pay Devialet for its work. Devialet's objective was to obtain financial compensation for its involvement in the project as quickly as possible and at the lowest possible cost, and wished to be defended by Parallel Avocats.

Following formal notices and close negotiations, Devialet reached an amicable agreement to settle the case and withdraw definitively from the project. The key element of the case consisted in accurately studying more than a year of exchanges in the project to reconstruct the legal reality of relations between the parties, justify Devialet's claim, and obtain payment, without waiting for a court decision.

Thanks to this defense, Devialet obtained a good tripartite agreement, preserved its relationship with the principal and avoided legal proceedings, which would have been damaging for all parties to the project.
